Established by diocesan convention in 1987, Episcopal Charities Appeal is our diocesan-wide “United Way” appeal that supports a wide variety of ministries in Western Washington, through an annual direct mail appeal to all Episcopal households during Lent each year.

All Episcopal households received a letter from Bishop Nedi Rivera before Easter, along with an ECA brochure for 2008 describing the 31 ministries receiving support this year. You can give by using the return envelope or online now using your debit or credit card.

All donations received by June 1 will be distributed this year. The ECA Committee thanks you in advance on behalf of these ministries who carry the Gospel for us into every corner of our diocese, providing food, shelter, health care, and basic necessities to those in human need in Western Washington.

ECA is extremely efficient, with fundraising costs of only 5%, covering printing and postage. Diocesan staff support is paid for by the diocesan program budget. Where else can you reach out to those in human need in Western Washington, and know that 95% of your gift is going directly to ministries with Episcopal connections, sharing God’s Good News?
